PayPal Canada begins new campaign

Online payment company PayPal Canada has begun a new communications campaign called "Can't Buy Me Love" tied to the approach of Valentine's Day. The initiative consists of a public relations campaign conducted by Environics Communications, along with advertising that encourages consumers to add more romance to their relationships. In addition, personal finance expert Kelley Keehn will conduct a national media tour to speak about the importance of finances to a relationship. The campaign includes email, search and display ads, plus a word-of-mouth component in the form of electronic Valentine's Day cards. The ad campaign was developed by Publicis Modem of Toronto. "While relationships are not just about romantic gestures, it's still important to show your partner that you care," said Nicky Mezo, head of marketing at PayPal Canada. "There's no better time than Valentine's Day to treat your partner to something special."
