TD LAUNCHING HOME COMPUTER BANKING SERVICE
By Adnews Staff
The Toronto-Dominion Bank yesterday unveiled their version of home computer banking. The system, called TD Access, is being touted as North America's first fully integrated channel for delivering personal banking and brokerage services via personal computer. Using special software offering the same level of security as an automatic teller machine, customers will be able to access their bank accounts, pay bills, trade North American stocks and over 500 mutual funds, and transfer funds 24-hours a day. The service will be tested in Guelph Ont. over the summer and launched nationally in the fall. Advertising for the new service, consisting of print ads, brochures and possibly television spots, will be handled by TBWA/Chiat Day of Toronto and will begin to appear in Sept. Public relations duties have been entrusted to Strategic Objectives of Toronto.
