Nordstrom debuts branded Visa card

Fashion retail chain Nordstrom has expanded its loyalty program in Canada by launching a branded Visa credit card. Consumers who use the Nordstrom Rewards Visa card to make purchases at any store will receive points that can be redeemed for Nordstrom merchandise. Consumers will receive two points for each dollar spent at Nordstrom and one point for each dollar spent elsewhere. Each 2,000 points accumulated will result in a $20 Nordstrom credit being deposited in the consumers account. Card holders will also have access to various special promotions and offers through the year. The card is being offered in association with MBNA, which is a division of The Toronto-Dominion Bank.
"We're continually looking for ways to enhance our customers' shopping experience and provide greater value for our loyalty program," said Michelle Haggard, vice-president and regional manager for Canada at Nordstrom. "Our Nordstrom Rewards Visa card is the must-have loyalty card for every fashion enthusiast. Canadian card holders can start earning points on their spring wardrobe purchases and then redeem them in the summer when they're looking for a new vacation outfit."
