NEW PRESIDENT FOR WESTCOM

Donald Smith, president of Westcom TV Group Ltd., announced this week that he will retire from that post at the end of August. He will be succeeded by Jim Macdonald, currently president and CEO of Toronto-area television station CHCH, on Sept. 1. Macdonald will continue in his position at CHCH in addition to his new role. Smith has been president and CEO of Westcom since 1989, prior to which he was president of Vancouver-based BCTV.
