Corus Entertainment launches Viva

Corus Entertainment will launch a new specialty channel called Viva today. The channel, aimed primarily at women between the ages of 40 and 64, will air dramas, movies and lifestyle programs. "Viva is going to be a unique television proposition for women who are exploring new passions, celebrating new freedoms and who have a thirst for lifelong learning," said Susan Ross, executive vice-president and general manager of specialty and pay television at Corus. "With the addition of Viva to our portfolio of women's specialty channels, Corus now has a comprehensive range of services for women of all ages and stages." Corus operates two other channels aimed at women: Cosmopolitan TV and W Network. Viva was formerly Canadian Learning Television, which Corus acquired from CTVglobemedia earlier this year.
