Jacques-de Champlain Foundation promotes AED app

The Montreal-based Jacques-de Champlain Foundation has begun a campaign called “Make hearts beat, download the AED-Quebec App.” The initiative encourages Quebec consumers to download the mobile application during the month of February. The application provides information about using an automated external defibrillator to provide first aid for someone experiencing cardiac arrest. It also lists the locations of approximately 7,000 AED devices in Quebec. The campaign consists of online advertising and social media content.

“During this Heart month, prevention must become a priority for everyone,” said François de Champlain, president of the foundation. “With the AED-Quebec application, our Foundation is committed to improving resuscitation care for Quebecers and to see to listing and installing more AEDs across the territory of Quebec. All the data shows that rapid use of an AED increases the chances of survival.”
