The Montreal-based National Congress of Italian Canadians is preparing a promotion to coincide with its 50th anniversary. The initiative, called the “Italian Journey Across Canada,” will take the form of a train trip across the country to visit the locations of notable contributions by Italian Canadians. It will begin in Vancouver on June 14 and end in Halifax on June 17.
The congress is also preparing to debut a new website at <http://www.italcanheritage.ca> intended to act as an umbrella online presence for participating Italian community associations. It will be used to promote various cultural events nationally.
“We are thrilled to embark on this dual celebration of our 50th anniversary, combining the historic ‘Italian Journey Across Canada’ with the launch of Italcanheritage.ca,” said Roberto Colavecchio, national president of the organization. “These initiatives symbolize our dedication to unity, cultural preservation, and embracing the digital age to strengthen our community bonds.”
