CTV to launch MTV2 in August

CTV will rebrand its Razer specialty channel as MTV2 on Aug. 1. The station, aimed at 12- to 24-year-olds, will carry programming including extreme sports, concerts, comedy, music videos and animated shows, among others. "MTV2 is fantastically gross, over-sexed, over-the-top, loud television that's hyper-targeted to a spirited young audience," said Brad Schwartz, general manager of the Much MTV Group at CTV. "We are Canada's youth experts, and we're going to keep launching new, niche, and exciting ways to engage them."
