Hearing Foundation of Canada conducts awareness campaign

The Toronto-based Hearing Foundation of Canada has released a new campaign of public service announcements to raise awareness of the consequences of hearing loss. The campaign, developed pro-bono by Publicis Canada of Toronto, consists of three 30-second commercials called "Loud Office," "Loud Love" and "Loud Yoga." The three ads depict situations in which people say embarrassing things more loudly than they realize. The campaign also includes materials on social networking websites YouTube.com and Facebook.com, as well as and new site for the foundation located at <http://www.turnitdown.ca>. "Publicis understood our objectives and successfully created PSAs that communicate our key messages in a straight forward yet humorous way," said foundation president Heather Ferguson. "Drawing on relatable real-life situations, the spots help people understand that too much of a good thing can hurt you and that it's important to think about how much time and at what sound level you listen to your music." The Hearing Foundation of Canada is a national charity dedicated to hearing health.
