A new online magazine called Sir John has launched in Toronto. The publication, located at <http://www.sirjohnmag.ca>, will cover Canadian and international politics with "colour and dash," according to founder Anthony Santelli. The debut issue contains articles on factory farming, the environment and healthcare, interspersed with fashion photography. The site also offers discussion forums. Santelli plans to produce a monthly print version of the magazine beginning in the spring or summer of 2008.
CTV has launched an online health information service called CTV MedNews Express. Users of the service can receive email notices of breaking medical news such as pharmaceutical recalls, infectious disease outbreaks and advisories from Health Canada. Other content will include links to new studies from medical journals. The service, located at <http://www.ctv.ca/mednewsexpress>, is aimed at health professionals and patients. It will be freely distributed twice per week.
