Canuck Place Children’s Hospice of Vancouver has released its first television advertising campaign. The fundraising campaign, created by MacLaren McCann, consists of three 30-second commercials called “Starfish,” “Sailboat” and “Kite.” Each ad depicts a child engaging in an outdoor activity such as touching a starfish, going sailing or flying a kite, then crossing the item off of a list in a notebook. The last item on the list is to live long enough to finish the school year or spend a summer holiday with their family. “This campaign captures the magic of what Canuck Place provides to children and families in need and underlines the importance of continued community support,” said Filomena Nalewajek, executive director of Canuck Place. The hospice offers specialized care in a home-like environment for BC children with life-threatening conditions and their families.
