Syngenta hires Bos, Courtney Rainey

Toronto-based Bos has been retained by Syngenta Crop Protection Canada of Guelph, ON as its advertising agency. Syngenta specializes in herbicides, insecticides and fungicides as well as seed production. The firm began its agency review in August. Ten firms were considered for the account. Courtney Rainey Group, which pitched for the business with Bos, will handle public relations for the company. “We’ve never worked with what I’d call a general advertising agency, but we were hugely impressed with the Bos pitch,” said Jay Bradshaw, president of Syngenta Canada. “They brought an outside perspective that validated our gut feeling to take a completely different approach to our marketing and advertising.” Bos has hired Sasha Volkau, previously at Anderson DDB, to lead the account. The agency also plans to hire additional staff to service this client.
