Porter Novelli Canada hires, promotes in Vancouver, Montreal

Porter Novelli Canada has appointed Mary Sturgeon to the position of executive vice-president. She will head the public relations agency’s western Canada office in Vancouver. Sturgeon was formerly president of Toronto-based Alchemy Public Relations, which merged with Porter Novelli in 2005. Brigitte Filiatrault has been hired as manager of Porter Novelli’s Montreal office. She will lead the agency’s day-to-day operations and provide counsel to national and Quebec-based clients, including Bell Canada and Wyeth. Filiatrault has previously worked on communications projects for Bell Canada, National Bank of Canada, Wyeth, Laura Secord, Birks Canada, Loblaws and Provigo. Porter Novelli has promoted Aurore Sun to senior consultant in Montreal. She will continue working primarily on consumer and healthcare accounts. Sun joined the agency in 2005. Janie Mercky has joined the firm in Montreal as a communications coordinator. Mercky is a recent graduate of McGill University.
