Rogers Wireless begins Stories campaign
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Rogers Wireless has begun a new campaign called “Stories” to promote its MP3 and video-capable mobile phones, the Motorola SLVR L7, Samsung T609 and Sony Ericsson W600. The ad depicts a group of friends travelling through Europe to see the World Cup in Germany. Along the way, they use their phones to listen to music, track game information and communicate. Rogers will be the exclusive Canadian provider of mobile video content for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The ad broke in 30- and 60-second versions on May 8. It will run nationally in English until the end of July. The website at <http://www.rogers.com/loud> is hosting a contest during which visitors can submit soccer-themed videos and photos for a chance to win one of three phones. Additional campaign elements include print, online, out-of-home and retail materials, including team and nation-specific creative for markets such as Little Portugal and Little Italy. The campaign was created by Publicis Toronto.
