Shopping mall Pickering Town Centre in Pickering, ON has begun a back-to-school contest aimed at teenagers called "Rock the Lock." During the promotion, which will run until Aug. 22, a daily prize will be hidden inside one of six school lockers displayed in the mall's centre court. Consumers can get a combination by sending a text message, then visiting the mall to try to open a locker. The daily prizes include products from participating retailers including H&M, Footlocker, Garage, Rogers Wireless and Sports Check. The 26 daily winners will be invited back to the mall on Aug. 29 to try to win one of two grand prizes consisting of two tickets to a Justin Bieber concert or an Apple IPad. "We wanted to create a fun and exciting contest that students can participate in before hitting the books," said Lorna Murphy, marketing director at Pickering Town Centre. "Rock the Lock allows them use their texting skills to try to get the right combination that will unlock one of the prizes. What makes the contest so engaging is the fact many of our retailers have generously donated prizes that will appeal to kids and teens."
