Pickering Town Centre conducts Raise the Woof campaign

The Pickering Town Centre shopping mall in Pickering, ON has begun a campaign in support of the the Humane Society of Durham Region. The initiative, called "Raise the Woof," takes the form of a five-day pet adoption campaign that will run until March 19. The campaign is intended to raise awareness of the society and to raise funds for the construction of a new animal shelter. During the campaign, consumers can buy two stuffed toy animals, named Colleen and Diamond after animals that perished in a recent fire at the shelter. Two new toys will be released each day of the campaign. The program also includes a contest aimed at children, who are invited to design a new reusable shopping bag, which will later be sold at the mall. "We are very proud to partner with the Humane Society of Durham Region on this initiative," said Lorna Murphy, marketing director at the Pickering Town Centre. "We are delighted to assist organizations who demonstrate such a strong commitment to the well-being of animals in our community."
