Identica rebrands Kamloops, Old Port of Montreal

Tourism Kamloops has retained Identica of Vancouver of conduct a rebranding initiative. The agency’s assignment is to develop a brand identity for the BC city that will remind travelers of its advantages as a destination. The firm will handle brand strategy development, identity development, along with the creation of a new tagline, logo, collateral templates and brand management tools. Identica won the job in a selection process that involved an unknown number of addition BC-based firms. “We invited several companies across the province to submit brand development proposals,” said Lee Morris of Tourism Kamloops. “We chose Identica because of their experience in tourism branding and imaging, along with their unique creative process for developing a brand.” The new brand identity will be introduced this summer. .... In related news, Identica Branding and Design and Nucleus Strategic Core Properties have completed a rebranding project for the Old Port of Montreal Corporation. The firms were hired after a call for bids issued in June and September 2005. The new brand identity includes changing the name of the Old Port of Montreal Park to the Quays of the Old Port of Montreal. The new visual identity is based on the curves of the Saint Lawrence River, the island geography of the city and a knotted rope. Both Identica and Nucleus are units of Cossette Communication Group.
