Intercontinental Hotels Group and agency John St. won the Best Single of Show category at the 2006 Bessies for a commercial called “Long Goodnight.” The Best Campaign of Show award went to Pfizer Canada and Taxi for a Viagra campaign called “Bleep.” The Bessies, conducted by the Television Bureau of Canada, recognize excellence in Canadian television advertising. Two other campaigns received Gold awards: “Survival of the Fittest,” created by DDB Vancouver for the BC Dairy Foundation, and “Immigrant Credentials,” created by JWT Toronto for the Maytree Foundation. Other single ads winning Gold awards included “Golf” and “Office,” created by Taxi for Pfizer, DDB Vancouver’s “Raptor” and “Rock” for the BC Dairy Foundation, “Busted” and “Iron Lung,” created for Future Shop by Rethink, a Scotiabank ad called “Hand,” produced by Bensimon Byrne, and “Costume Party,” created for Labatt Breweries of Canada by Downtown Partners.
