CANADIAN AIRLINES DOWN TO TWO
By Adnews Staff
Gee, Jeffery & Partners Advertising of Toronto and BCP of Montreal are in a final shootout for the $11-million-plus Canadian Airlines International account. A decision is expected by mid-May. Other shortlisted agencies were: Vickers & Benson Advertising and Ogilvy & Mather, both of Toronto. In February, a spokesperson said the airline hadn't decided whether to consolidate everything with one agency or hire individual shops for various parts of the account, such as direct marketing, the French market and promotions. The incumbent national agency is TBWA Chiat/Day of Toronto. BCP has the Quebec market and O&M has been doing direct marketing. While BCP has a Toronto office, Gee, Jeffery has no Quebec affiliate.
