BLACK'S SHOWS OFF ADVANCED PHOTO SYSTEM
By Adnews Staff
Black Photo Corp. of Markham, Ont. says that, as of April 22, it will be the first and only Canadian retailer selling the complete line of Advanced Photo System products and services. That's when the new photograpy system makes its debut in markets around the world. It will be available in 20 of Black's flagship stores across Canada on the first day, and by May 1 all of Black's 186 outlets will be selling Advanced Photo products. Print and flyer advertising, created in-house, will begin in May. On May 11 Black's will hold demonstrations of the new system at its stores and give customers a chance to win one of 60 Advanced Photo System packages containing a camera, film and accessories. By June Black's will be lending out videotapes explaining the new system. The Advanced Photo System was developed by five photo companies: Canon Inc., Eastman Kodak, Fuji Film, Minolta Camera and Nikon Inc. It features drop-in easy film loading, the ability to choose from three different photo sizes on the same roll of film while using the camera, and a special negative storage system. In addition, each finished roll comes back with a contact print with each shot numbered for easier re-ordering.
