P&G CUTS PAPER PRICES

The Procter & Gamble Company of Cincinnati is slashing prices in the U.S. on its tissues and paper products. Beginning with the April 22 shipments, prices for Charmin bathroom tissue will drop 8.6%, and Puffs facial tissues will cost 8.5% less. Beginning in June, prices for Bounty paper towels will be lowered 4.8%. In Canada P&G dropped prices on its tissue and paper products by up to 8% in January and lowered them again by as much as 8% yesterday, external affairs manager Jacqui d'Eon told Adnews. P&G is lowering its prices because pulp costs have gone down.
