TORONTO SUN CHANGES THEME

The Toronto Sun daily newspaper is using a new theme in its advertising. The paper is launching a radio and outdoor campaign this weekend with the slogan "We cut through" replacing last year's "We'll be there." However the advertising continues to emphasize what the Sun calls its "cheeky, irreverent attitude" towards the news. One billboard emphasizes the cheeky part. It shows the rear view of a man with pants halfway down his backside and a lipstick impression on one cheek. The headline reads, "Fine for politicians. Not for columnists." The ads were created by Ambrose Carr Linton Kelly of Toronto. The ads are being run in The Sun itself as well as on newspapar boxes.
