PR FIRM HAS NEW PRESIDENT
By Adnews Staff
Edelman Public Relations shuffled its senior management this week and took on a new president. Armand Torchia moved up from president to chairman and CEO, replacing Stan Houston who retired this week but will remain a special counsel. Charles Fremes has joined the firm as president and chief operating officer. Fremes left his post as senior vice-president of corporate and public affairs at Molson Companies last December in an executive shake-up that mainly affected the Molson Breweries division. At Edelman Fremes has taken over the duties of Brenda Pergantes who has left her job as executive vice-president and Toronto general manager. No one Adnews was able to talk to could say what Pergantes intends to do.
