ENGINEERS HIRE AGENCY TO TELL THEIR STORY
By Adnews Staff
Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is using an agency for the first time. The organization wants to show people what engineers do and how they contribute to public safety and to the health of the economy. The group is particularly trying to reach government regulators and business and opinion leaders, says Yuri Kovar, account director at Freeman Rodgers Battaglia, the Toronto agency that won the account in a competition with two other ad shops. What tipped the balance in the agency's favor was the work it has done for other associations and its understanding of PEO's target audience, communications director David Fletcher says in a release. Other agencies on the short list were Manifest Communications of Toronto and Cooper, Spearing & Stone Advertising of Hamilton, Ont. PEO sets standards for and regulates the practice of professional engineering in the province. It represents over 59,000 licensed engineers and 3,500 engineering firms.
