Alberta Health Services promotes cancer screening

Alberta Health Services has begun a campaign to promote a new website located at <http://www.screeningforlife.ca>. The site is intended to provide guidance on when women should get tested for conditions such as breast, cervical and colorectal cancer. The site and the campaign were developed by Manifest Communications of Toronto. Promotion includes advertising online, in community newspapers, in medical waiting rooms and the in changing rooms of Winners retail stores in Calgary and Edmonton. "With so much conflicting information coming out from the media and elsewhere, we wanted to address people's confusion head on," said Jim Diorio, chief idea officer at Manifest. "Both the ad campaign and website focus on empowering women to learn what's right for them, because there isn't always a one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to cancer screening. The ads pose the question about age, a major source of confusion, and once at the website, users get instant recommendations on what to consider given their individual profile."
