Square One shopping centre of Mississauga, Ont. will be the first mall in North America to turn restaurant and food court tables into billboards you dine on. Toronto-based TableMedia Inc. has bought the rights to sell advertising space on table tops at Square One. TableMedia has also made a deal with Cambridge Shopping Malls, which has shopping centres across Canada, and is negotiating with other mall owners. TableMedia uses a locking system to attach advertising to a table top. The ad is protected by a clear plastic cover. TableMedia is owned by a group of shareholders. TableMedia started operations earlier this year. It is a privately-owned company managed by president Howard Petrook who owns three retail outlets which sell Bell Mobility products.
