Coast Capital begins Valentine's Day campaign

Federal financial cooperative Coast Capital has begun a campaign called “Talk Money to Me.” Timed to coincide with Valentine’s Day, the campaign encourages Canadian couples to talk about financial matters as part of maintaining a long-term relationship. The campaign takes the form of an interactive card game that can be played in branches and online. The game is intended to open the way for money conversations that couples may have been putting off. The campaign also includes public relations and influencer activities from Citizen Relations.

“We've created this game for the 97% of Canadians who believe transparency and open conversation about finances are fundamental for a successful relationship and 45% that aren’t actually being honest when they do have the money talk,” said Trish Tambellini, director of marketing at Coast Capital. “We know talking about finances early in a relationship can ultimately set couples up for future success in both love and money so it shouldn’t be this taboo topic that couples shy away from and lose connection over.”
