Sunnybrook begins Racing for the Tiniest Babies campaign
By Adnews Staff
The Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto has begun an awareness and fundraising campaign called “Racing for the Tiniest Babies.” The campaign promotes the Sunnybrook's DAN Women & Babies Program, which supports premature babies and their families. The campaign features Indycar driver Devlin DeFrancesco, who was prematurely born at the Sunnybrook Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The campaign will focus on his personal story and highlight the work done by the program. The effort includes a website at <http://www.sunnybrook.ca/bornfast> and an online video. In addition, DeFrancesco and his family will match donations to the campaign up to $250,000.
“From working to prevent premature births and caring for preterm infants, to understanding the complexity of multiple births, we are working tirelessly to provide world-leading care for families,” said Eugene Ng, chief of newborn and development pediatrics at the DAN Women & Babies Program. “Devlin is just one of the thousands of examples of program graduates going on to big things, and we couldn't be more proud.”
