Ikea conducts Repurposeful Instructions promotion

Home furnishings retailer Ikea Canada has begun a promotion called “Repurposeful Instructions.” Located online at <http://www.ikea.ca/repurposeful>, the effort consists of 12 sets of assembly instructions for repurposing old Ikea furniture into other items. The site includes instructions for converting a cabinet into a beehive and shopping bags into hanging plant holders, among others. According to the company, the intent is to reduce the number of its products that become waste.
“We really believe in the power of small, sustainable acts that people can take in their daily lives,” said Ami Warrington, marketing communications specialist at Ikea Canada. “In addition to becoming a fully circular business by 2030, Ikea aims to help our customers and co-workers make lots of little changes to live more sustainably in easy and inspiring ways, like those featured in our Repurposeful Instructions.”
