RBC readies Canada United Weekend

RBC of Toronto will conduct a promotion from Aug. 28 to 30 called the “Canada United Weekend,” intended to encourage consumers to patronize local businesses. The initiative will include the participation of approximately 65 brands, the national Chamber of Commerce and other business associations. It will consist of a collection of special offers and promotions from participating firms, including 25 prizes of $10,000 to be spent at local eligible businesses. Consumers can enter online at <http://www.gocanadaunited.ca/win>. In addition, member of the RBC Rewards loyalty program will receive 25% more points when shopping at participating companies using an eligible credit card. Local businesses can take part in the promotion by downloading a collection of marketing materials at <http://www.gocanadaunited.ca/for-local-businesses>. Social media content will also support the promotion.

“Canada's small and local businesses have shown incredible resilience throughout the pandemic, even as they continue to face the devastating financial impact of COVID-19,” said Neil McLaughlin, group head of personal and commercial banking at Royal Bank of Canada. “Now, as these businesses continue to focus on safely re-opening, they need our support to recover. I encourage every Canadian and business to take part in ‘Canada United Weekend’ and show local some love. Together, with the help of our incredible partners, we can make a difference for local businesses and help move Canada's recovery forward.”
