Canada Life begins Break Box initiative

Winnipeg-based insurance company Canada Life has begun a promotion during which it will distribute “Break Boxes” to 285 Canadian businesses and not-for-profit organizations. The boxes contain a collection of educational materials intended to help organizations foster good mental health at work and at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The content addresses topics including isolation, caring for loved ones, financial concerns, increased workload and other factors. A digital version of the box is also available for free in English and French at <http://www.clwsmh.com/digitalbreakbox>. The initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Workplace Strategies for Mental Health.

“Supporting and nurturing positive mental health in our workplaces is an investment, one that improves all aspects of our businesses,” said Perrin Beatty, president and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. “Productivity, profitability and employee retention, among others. This has never been more true as we rise to address the many challenges and impacts of COVID-19 upon Canadians and businesses across the country. Initiatives like ‘Break Box’ are meaningful contributions to helping employees and business owners alike during a difficult time.”
