Canadian Soccer Business buys Stadium Digital

Canadian Soccer Business has acquired Toronto-based digital media company Stadium Digital. Canadian Soccer Business will debut a new professional soccer league called the Canadian Premier League in April 2019. Stadium Digital will now manage consumer-facing digital technology and content for the league, its teams and its venues. The firm will also handle the distribution of live content. Stadium Digital also operates the All Access and ShowDown loyalty and engagement programs. Company president Mark Silver has joined Canadian Soccer Business as chief digital officer.

"Our launch of the Canadian Premier League is timed perfectly with the maturity of mobile technology as fans' preference for interacting with leagues and clubs," said David Clanachan, chairman of Canadian Soccer Business. "By acquiring Stadium Digital, we now have the intellectual property and experience to deliver on our mobile-first mandate, while taking advantage of the rapidly changing landscape of live content delivery and consumption patterns of the sports audience."
