Wild On Media introduces digital taxi ads

Toronto-based out-of-home media company Wild On Media has introduced a new advertising product in the form of digital displays mounted on the roofs of taxis. According to the company, it is the first to offer this form of digital taxi advertising. Wild On will offer the service in association with Toronto taxi company Flash Taxi. Fifteen vehicles are currently carrying 30 display faces. Wild On is also introducing 200 static display faces on an additional 100 vehicles in Toronto. These products will, in the future, be accompanied by wrapped vehicles and in-vehicle displays.

"The idea makes much more sense, as LED video panels and billboards are popping up all around the city and taxi tops are already a successful advertising medium," said company president George Christidis. "This is an all new form of advertising which gives great power to brands. With GPS and mobile internet-enabled technologies, brands can choose which taxis to run their ads on based on the time of the day and the taxi location."

The first client to make use of these new displays is Moosehead Breweries, which is using them as part of a larger out-of-home campaign that will run through the summer.
