Boston Pizza prepares Valentine's Day promotion

Restaurant chain Boston Pizza is preparing a Valentine's Day promotion for Feb. 14. On that day, the chain will offer heart-shaped pizzas to consumers. One dollar from each sale will be donated to charitable organization the Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects. Consumer who donate an additional two dollars will receive a heart-shaped coupon for a future order.

The company also recently conducted a social media contest called "BP Pizza Lovers," which encouraged consumers to submit photographs of themselves with a loved one, along with a personal story about Boston Pizza. Four winners will receive an "ultimate date night" prize package. On Valentine's Day, the company will release a video via social media that will depict a number of love stories that have occurred at its locations.

"Valentine's Day at Boston Pizza brings a tradition of heart-shaped pizzas that dates back to 1980," said Donna Finelli, senior vice-president of marketing at Boston Pizza. "Whether you want to enjoy your pizza in a Boston Pizza restaurant or at home, Boston Pizza is bringing the tradition to you and your family, friends or that special someone. To date, Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects has raised and donated more than $24 million to charity partners across Canada, which provide much-needed role modeling support to children."
