Air Canada breaks Home for the Holidays campaign

Air Canada of Montreal has begun a new marketing campaign called "Home for the Holidays." The initiative consists of a social media contest, the winners of which will receive a pair of round trip flights on any of the airline's routes to bring family members to visit for the holidays. Consumers can enter by submitting a story about someone they would like to bring home via Facebook Twitter or Instagram before Dec. 1. Eight winners will be selected. Air Canada will then film the arrivals of these visitors to use in a national video advertising campaign.

"We've all had that moment at the arrival gate when we scan the crowd for that special person," said Andy Shibata, managing brand director at Air Canada. "Whether you've been in the air for one hour or fifteen hours, the second you lock eyes with your loved one, you know you're home. We want to celebrate these universal moments of love this holiday season by creating a few more."
