Sportsnet breaks United By Sport campaign

Toronto-based specialty television channel Sportsnet has begun a new brand campaign called "United By Sport." According to the company, the campaign depicts sports as a unifying force in Canada and a connector that brings communities together. The effort consists of a 60-second television commercial, accompanied by out-of-home, radio and digital advertising on Rogers Media properties. It will also make use of social media activities and materials in sports venues nationally.

"Sport brings Canadians together," said Scott Moore, president of Sportsnet and NHL properties at Rogers Media. "It transcends gender, age and ethnicity, and is what allows us to put aside our differences and just share a moment. This sentiment has never been more relevant. 'United By Sport' embodies the culture, values and identity of Sportsnet. Whether on the ice, field or behind the scenes, we strive to provide the most access to and best insights on the sports that matter most to Canadians."
