Arthritis Research Canada readies awareness campaign

Arthritis Research Canada of Vancouver is preparing a four week campaign timed to coincide with Arthritis Awareness Month. According to the organization, the initiative is intended to foster discussion of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease, as well as quality-of-life issues for those with arthritis. The campaign, called "30 Days of ARC," will begin on Sept. 1. It will consist of online videos, personal stories from patients and social media activities, as well as online information at <http://www.arthritisresearch.ca>.

"Arthritis Awareness Month provides a platform to educate and inform Canadians about Canada's most costly and chronic disease," said John Esdaile, scientific director at Arthritis Research Canada. "As a result, for the month of September we are committed to bringing awareness and creating a conversation around arthritis and the impact of research, focusing on the themes of prevention, treatment and diagnosis, and quality of life."
