McDonald's Canada conducts 50th anniversary promotion

McDonald's Canada will conduct a national promotion on Aug. 16 in support of its 50th anniversary in this country. On that day, the fast food chain will offer hamburgers for sale at 67 cents, in recollection of the 1967 opening of the first Canadian McDonald's location in Richmond BC. The company will also host special event at three Canadian locations in Calgary, London, ON and Dartmouth. The events will feature period decorations, images from the past 50 years and the participation of local personalities. The promotion also includes social media activities.
"It's amazing to think that a single BC location that started in 1967 has grown to over 1,400 restaurants across Canada," said John Betts, president and CEO of McDonald's Canada. "This is a testament to what the passion, spirit and support of guests, franchisees and employees can do. Looking ahead, we're excited about our future and continuing to share special moments, like today, with Canadians from coast to coast."
