Birks renews Women in Film sponsorship

Jewelry retailer Birks has again signed a sponsorship agreement with Telefilm Canada to support an event called the "Birks Diamond Tribute to the Year's Women in Film" at the Toronto International Film Festival. The event will recognize 12 Canadian female actors, directors and screenwriters on Sept. 12. This will be the fifth year Birks has sponsored the event.
"Our yearly celebration of women in the screen industries has become a staple in the TIFF event calendar," said Eva Hartling, chief marketing officer at Birks. "It gives us an opportunity to applaud the best female talent in Canada and Birks has been proud to support this important initiative since the start. We are thrilled to be hosting the fifth edition of our tribute while also celebrating the 150th anniversary of Canada this year. This promises to be a very special evening."
