Dixie Outlet Mall begins Prize Locker contest

The Toronto-based Dixie Outlet Mall has begun a back-to-school season contest promotion called the "Dixie Prize Locker." The contest features an installation at the shopping mall in the form of a seven-by-11-foot school locker displaying prizes from various participating retailers. From Aug. 11 to Sept. 3, consumers can enter to win a daily prize from the locker using an attached kiosk. The prize of the day will be displayed on a digital screen. The contest will distribute approximately $5,000 in prizes over 24 days. For each contest entry, the mall will donate one school supply item to the Mississauga Food Bank. Consumers can also enter an additional draw for a grand prize worth $2,500 by posting about the contest on social media sites.
"The back-to-school season is a busy and expensive time for many families," said Cristina Avila, marketing director at Dixie Outlet Mall. "The Dixie Prize Locker offers both students and parents the chance to win brand name sports gear and fitness apparel from a variety of our athletic outlets. It's important for us give back to the community that supports us so much year after year. As one of our favourite local charities, Dixie has again partnered with The Mississauga Food Bank."
