Rogers Media signs deals with Weather Company, Allrecipes.com

Rogers Media of Toronto has signed two new agreements with US-based properties The Weather Company and Allrecipes.com. Through its agreement, The Weather Company will provide localized weather data and forecasts, as well as other content, to various Rogers properties. Rogers will provide articles, photographs and video content to the Canadian versions of The Weather Channel mobile application and the Weather.com website. The two companies will also collaborate on advertising initiatives in Canada. Canadian marketers will have access to The Weather Company's WeatherFX advertising system. The Weather Company is a subsidiary of IBM.

Allrecipes.com has signed an advertising sales representation agreement with Roger Media. The food website is a property of Meredith Corporation. Rogers already represents the company's MarthaStewart.com site in Canada, as well as its Parents, Parenting and Better Homes & Gardens properties.

"These new agreements provide more scale and integrated brand opportunities to our advertising partners in a trusted environment that aligns with our key online properties," said Al Dark, senior vice-president of sales at Rogers Media. "Leveraging that scale and delivering premium content opportunities helps our advertisers build meaningful connections between their brands and our audiences."
