Purolator readies Tackle Hunger campaign

Courier company Purolator will conduct a national campaign called "Purolator Tackle Hunger Week" from June 5 to 9. The initiative will encourage consumers to donate to food banks online, in person or via social media. It is also intended to raise awareness of the issue of hunger. Consumers can donate money online at <http://www.purolatortacklehungerdonation.com> or food in person at any Purolator Shipping Centre in Canada. In addition, the company will donate one pound of food to Canadian food banks for each new "like" of its Facebook page or Twitter message using a campaign hashtag during the promotion. Purolator will also host a series of events nationally to raise food and funds for local food banks.

"Purolator Tackle Hunger Week provides Canadians an opportunity to come together to make a difference in their communities, not just in person but also online and through social media," said John Ferguson, president and CEO of Purolator. "I am so proud of our employees, partners, agents and customers who every year set the bar higher and prove that together, we can help deliver the promise of a meal to the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who rely on food banks every month."
