Taco Bell Canada conducts TaCoat promotion

Fast food chain Taco Bell Canada has begun a promotion in collaboration with fashion designer Hayley Elsaesser to develop a winter coat called the "TaCoat." According to the company, the coat is inspired by the chain's Crunchy Taco. As part of the initiative, the company conducted a Facebook event on Feb. 6 during which consumers could contribute their own ideas for the coat by interacting with a sketch artist in real time. The coat is consists of two layers. The outer shell displays a taco print on a wavy background in the company's purple colour. The detachable inner layer is coloured teal green and aqua. Consumers can enter a contest to win the coat via Taco Bell's Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat or Instagram pages beginning Feb. 21. Taco Bell is a subsidiary of Yum Brands.

"The love that our fans have for Taco Bell, as well as the arts, inspired us to do something special and unlike anything we've done before," said Katelyn Zborowski, associate marketing manager at Taco Bell Canada. "We set out to create a uniquely Taco Bell Canada coat to help keep one lucky super fan warm this winter. It was an easy decision to partner with Hayley Elsaesser to bring our vision to life. We're very excited to unveil the finished design and give our fans the chance to win the TaCoat for themselves."
