Ottawa International Airport hires Astral Out of Home

Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport has signed an eight-year contract with Astral Out of Home to operate its indoor advertising. Beginning next month, Astral will replace the existing advertising infrastructure at the airport with an inventory of digital displays. According to the company, this will make Ottawa International the first Canadian airport to have all-digital permanent advertising structures. The system will also include Astral's AeroTV service, which will display news and information segments.

"The Ottawa International Airport Authority's key priority for the new advertising program was the creation of a spectacular, unique and effective advertising network which maximizes revenue while preserving the architectural character of our award-winning terminal," said Mark Laroche, president and CEO of the authority. "Astral Out of Home's proposal more than satisfies these objectives, and we are very excited to see what the mix of content and innovation from the broader Bell Media platform will provide in the years to come."

Astral Out of Home is a division of Bell Media. Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International is the fifth Canadian airport to hire the company to provide advertising services. It serves approximately 4.6 million passengers per year.
