Corus releases TreehouseGo app
Corus Entertainment of Toronto has released a mobile application for children called TreehouseGo to accompany its specialty television channel Treehouse. According to the company, the release is the first in a series of applications that will tie-in with its children's television brands. TreehouseGo is aimed at children between the ages of two and six and offers "hundreds of hours" of video content from the channel's programming lineup, including Dora and Friends, Little Charmers, Octonauts, Toopy & Binoo, Bubble Guppies and Mike the Knight. Users can also submit an email address to receive promotional offers and discounts. The Apple and Android application is free to subscribers to the channel. It was developed in association with You.i TV of Ottawa.
"We're thrilled to begin rolling out a full suite of Corus Kids brands specially optimized for mobile devices, beginning with TreehouseGo," said Colin Bohm, vice-president of television at Corus and head of Corus Kids. "These apps ensure that our content is everywhere consumers are and available to them whenever and wherever they want it. Parents and kids will love the flexibility of being able to watch their favourite entertainment on the go with the TreehouseGo experience that mirrors the full, rich environment of Canada's number one television brand for young kids."
