Ikea Canada continues House Rules campaign

Furniture retailer Ikea Canada has begun a new phase of its ongoing "House Rules" social media campaign. The initiative encourages consumers to share advice for living a more environmentally-friendly life. Suggestions can be submitted online at <http://www.ikea.ca/houserules> or through social media services by using the campaign hashtag. The promotion will run until May 1.

As part of the campaign, Ikea has constructed at 14- by 24-foot installation made out of recycled toilet paper at the Green Living Show in Toronto. The display promotes the company's practice of using 100% post-consumer recycled content in the paper towels, napkins and toilet paper in Ikea stores in Canada.

"At Ikea, sustainability is an integral part of our business strategy," said Brendan Seale, sustainability manager at Ikea Canada. "Our goals are to inspire and enable our customers to live a more sustainable life at home through the solutions we offer, and to have a positive impact on the planet through our own business practices. The #HouseRules campaign is meant to inspire Canadians to share the ways they save energy and water, reduce waste and live a healthier life in their own homes."
