Akamai Technologies expands into Toronto

Content delivery company Akamai Technologies has expanded its operations in Canada by opening a new office in Toronto. The office will handle sales, services, engineering and security activities. Akamai will maintain its existing Canadian location in Ottawa. Akamai specializes in online content delivery for the financial, media, manufacturing, health care and public sectors.
"The addition of our Toronto office is an important step as we seek to nurture and grow our customer base across Canada," said Jim Ebzery, the company's senior vice-president and general manager for the Americas. "By expanding our local operations, we are in a position to better address the needs of the market and our customer base in the areas of cloud security, web and mobile performance, and media delivery in Canada and the region, both directly and in collaboration with our local partners."
