BCAMA CLAIMS SECOND STRAIGHT AWARD
By Adnews Staff
The American Marketing Association (AMA) announced yesterday that the British Columbia Chapter (BCAMA) is the co-recipient of the 1996 AMA Chapter of the Year Award, making the Vancouver-based outfit the first-ever chapter in the award's 23-year history to win the honour two years in a row. It shared the prize with the Baltimore division. The award, competed for by 90 chapters worldwide, is judged at the AMA Intrnational Headquarters in Chicago and is the highest honour an AMA chapter can receive. It is a measurement of chapter management, financial performance, programming, special activities, communications, membership, member satisfaction and collegiate activities. Last year's triumph marked the first time a Canadian chapter had brought home the award. The AMA, with 41,000 members around the world, is a professional society for the marketing community. The British Columbia division has 500 professional and student members.
