BOMBARDIER NARROWS COMPETITION TO THREE

The group of competitors for the Bombardier account has been reduced to three agencies from an original field of seven. The Montreal-based company has whittled the decision down to McCann-Erickson Ltd. Worldwide, J. Walter Thompson of Chicago and The Richards Group of Dallas, Texas, the incumbent on Bombardier's Learjet account. Eliminated from the running were Cossette Communication Marketing of Montreal, Team One Advertising of El Segundo, Calif., Keilor & Co. of Hartford, Conn., and The BCP Group of Montreal. Bombardier spokesperson Ahmed Galipeau told Adnews on Friday that the company will meet with each of the three agencies next week. They will return a month later with sample creative work, with a final decision expected in mid-November. Bombardier had decided in July to hire one agency for both its Canadair and Learjet accounts. GroupAction Marketing Inc. of Montreal, an affiliate of J. Walter Thompson, is the incumbent on the Canadair account.
