NEW FAX MODEM COMING FROM WILDCARD
By Adnews Staff
WildCard Technologies Inc., of Richmond Hill, Ont., launched their latest fax modem last week, the WildCard SatisFAXtion 2000XL. The two-line fax modem is designed for computer-based fax applications, including fax messaging and gateway, fax on demand and fax broadcast systems. As with their other modems, various tasks can be carried out with the 2000XL, including image compression, fax protocol and communication between host and modem. The model is fully compatible with existing SatisFAXtion CAS-based modems and is integrated with the most popular facsimile servers. The 2000XL also has an on-board watchdog utility that automatically reboots and recovers a fax queue should the modem go off-line. A print advertising campaign will begin in November and will target computer trade publications across North America. WildCard uses Kuhn & Associates of Mississauga for its campaigns, as well as Environics Communications Inc. of Toronto for its public relations. The media is typically bought in-house.
